comment: U2 perform in South Africa after an absence of 12 years, 10 months, and 23 days. It was the first concert held at FNB Stadium. First show of the 360° Tour that does not feature Space Oddity as intro music; it is replaced by a remix of Get On Your Boots featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir. Hugh Masekela joins U2 on trumpet during I Still Haven't Found. Pride's lyrics are modified in tribute to Nelson Mandela. Bono does not sing during Scarlet; the whole song is played by the rest of the band while Bono talks. This is the first full tour concert opened by an old song (i.e. not from the latest album or unreleased) since 10 January 1990, or if dress rehearsals are counted, 7 August 1992.
